Sam is a Co-Founding Member of Freedom Energy Resources LLC (‘Freedom”) and serves as its President and CEO.
Prior to the creation of Freedom, Sam worked in oil and gas industry for over 30 years. Most recently Mr. Fragale worked for Chief Oil & Gas, LLC as Senior VP Operations managing and directing their Marcellus operations in Northeast PA. Under his leadership he built a highly skilled management and operations team which was directly responsible for drilling over 150 Marcellus wells while increasing production from 40 MMc/d to 850 MMcf/d with over a BCF/d of capacity which resulted in significant value creation.
Before joining Chief, Mr. Fragale had a 20-year career with Phillips Production Company/Phillips Drilling Company as Sr. Vice President/President & COO. During his tenure and leadership, he was responsible for managing and directing all aspects of drilling, completion, production, exploration, regulatory, safety and land. During this time his team drilled over 3000 conventional wells and participated in and operated various exploration projects. He directed the transformation of the company into a Marcellus Shale operator which resulted in the sale of the company to Exxon/Mobil in June 2011 for $1.7 Billion. He started his career working for Shell Offshore Inc. as a Reservoir Engineer.
Mr. Fragale graduated in 1983 from West Virginia University in Morgantown West Virginia, with a B.S. degree in Petroleum Engineering.
Sam is a former Member of Technical Advisory Board for the PA Dept. of Environmental Protection and has served on the Pennsylvania Independent Oil and Gas Association (“PIOGA’s”) Board of Directors and the Executive Committee as Vice Chairman for nearly 20 and 10 years respectively. He was member of the IOGA/POGAM merger committee which successfully merged the two organizations in 2010 to form PIOGA.
Owen is a Co-Founding Member of Freedom Energy Resources LLC (‘Freedom”) and serves as its COO.
With over 35 years of experience, Owen brings a long and successful track record with significant exploratory conventional/resource discoveries in 15 states and offshore gulf. He has also closed on $1 Billion in acquisition of domestic energy assets and managed 50-100MM$ annual exploratory and development projects in several states.
Owen has established himself as a reliable, creative and consistent associate and partner within the energy industry. He has developed and maintained close and valuable relationships which continue to allow for multi-faceted opportunities throughout the United States.
Prior to co-founding Freedom Energy, LLC he was VP Operations for Chief Oil & Gas and co-founder, manager of Stone & Wolf and Betop Energy. He also served as VP Engineering/Geology for AA Production. Mr. Stone graduated with a BS In Petroleum Engineering from the University of Wyoming.
Terry is a Co-Founding Member of Freedom Energy Resources LLC (‘Freedom”) and serves as its Senior VP of Exploration and Geology.
Prior to Freedom, Terry served as Vice President Geology – Appalachia for Chief Oil & Gas where he was responsible for the geologic oversight of the Company’s Marcellus Shale assets in Pennsylvania. Production from those assets were increased 20-fold during his tenure to become among the best in the entire Marcellus play. Terry has a total of eight years of Marcellus experience including Chief, Phillips Production Company and XTO Energy.
He has accumulated 35 years of oil and gas experience focused primarily on seismically defined, deeper targets, both conventional and unconventional. He started his career working for Consolidated Natural Gas Supply Corporation, a predecessor to Consol Energy.
Mr. Ward graduated in 1978 from West Virginia University in Morgantown, West Virginia, with a B.S. degree in Geology.
